Did a Russian hypersonic missile slay 160 NATO officers in an underground bunker?
Media silence on the fallout of Moscow's missile attack on 9 March 2023
According to Russian news outlet Pravda one of the six hypersonic Kinzhal-47 missiles fired as part of a barrage on 9 March 2023, annihilated a NATO bunker 400 feet underground at Lviv, close to the Polish border. An estimated 160 NATO officers reportedly perished in the attack.[1]
The Russian barrage included 84 missiles of different types covering the entire territory of Ukraine, including its Westernmost parts, up to the border with NATO member Poland. Six of the missiles were of Moscow's "unstoppable" kinzhal-47 type, capable of traveling up to 10-12 times the speed of the sound, between 2.2 to 2.5 miles per second, and with kinetic energy (thanks to the high speed) corresponding to small tactical nuclear weapons, about 4 kilotons of TNT.[2]
The Russian strike was a retaliation for a terrorist attack on civilians, killing two, inside Russia in the city of Bryansk on 2 March 2023.[3]
A suggested reason for the silence on the American side is that Pentagon does not trust politicians in Washington who, should they realize just how devastatingly successful the Russian attack was, publicly may demand retaliation with nuclear weapons.
Pravda speculates that the attack made the US and NATO finally understand that the West will not prevail in Ukraine and that, behind closed doors, forces are at work to create an off-ramp for Washington along the lines that the Russian Federation is granted the regions in Ukraine it already controls whilst the United States is given all the lucrative contracts to build up what is left of Ukraine in the West and which was destroyed during the war.
Greek language Pronews was reportedly the first news outlet to report on the alleged destruction of a deep underground NATO bunker on 9 March 2023.[4, 5]
A Ukrainian Air Force Command spokesperson:[6]
"The enemy used a wide range of weapons today - almost all the missiles they often use individually were launched during today’s massive missile strike. This was done in order to disperse the attention of air defense
There are some missile types that our air defense system cannot shoot down. This time we had 13 S-300 missiles, which actually hit the frontline areas every day and 6 Kinzhal missiles launched from MiG-31 – an aircraft responsible for daily air raid alarms in Ukraine every day, which some people have used to ignore"
According to youtube-channel D-Media the NATO bunker was an old Soviet model constructed during the Cold War, and which has hit by two Kinzhal missiles: the first one destroyed the air defence systems in place and the second one penetrated the bunker, killing an estimated 300 military personnel.
